Puppy School is about more than teaching your puppy to sit, stay and come when called.
It's about raising a dog who wants to spend time with you, listens to you, can settle independently and has the skills to enjoy everyday life.
Through practical training, we help develop your puppy's impulse control, resilience, independence and engagement with you — building the foundations for a confident, well-mannered adult dog.

A well-trained dog has more freedom.
Imagine being able to take your dog to a café, enjoy a relaxed walk, have them settle while the kids play sport or confidently take them on adventures.
These experiences don't happen automatically. They depend on both the skills your dog has learned and the behaviours they've developed as they've grown.
Puppy School focuses on both — teaching practical skills while developing impulse control, resilience, independence and the ability to remain engaged with you around distractions.
The goal isn't simply a puppy who behaves in class. It's a dog you can enjoy taking places.

Puppy School combines practical training with developing the behaviours your puppy needs for everyday life — helping them become calmer, more confident, independent and responsive as they grow.
COMMUNICATION & ENGAGEMENT
Learn how to communicate clearly with your puppy, get their attention and help them understand when they're getting it right.
RECALL & RESPONSIVENESS
Build a puppy who wants to come back to you and can increasingly choose you even when the environment becomes more interesting.

Teach your puppy that they don't always need to be doing something — including how to settle and switch off while life happens around them.

Teaching a puppy to perform a skill in a quiet training room is relatively straightforward. The real challenge is whether they can still do it when another dog walks past, someone arrives at the house or something exciting catches their attention.
That's why Puppy School focuses on three stages.
We're not training puppies for the classroom. We're preparing them for life.

Puppy School is designed for puppies approximately 3–6 months of age, particularly those moving beyond their initial puppy preschool experience.

Your puppy should be well on the day of class, and up to date with vaccinations for their age. We ask for vaccination details in the suitability form so we can confirm the safest and most appropriate option for your puppy.

Not every puppy is suited to a small-group class. A suitability assessment helps determine whether Puppy School is the right environment or whether individual support would be more appropriate.

You'll receive information about what to bring and how to prepare before your first class.

Please do not bring your puppy to class if they are unwell. Please contact us before the class so we can best advise you what to do.

Classes are held at the Pet Logic Training Centre in Wangara, Perth.

Classes are delivered by Dr Liam Brown, a veterinarian with additional qualifications in veterinary behaviour and extensive experience in dog training and behaviour modification.
