Why Puppy School Matters
The first few months of a puppy’s life are critical. Experiences during this “sensitive period” shape behaviour for years to come. A well-structured puppy program helps prevent common problems such as reactivity, separation anxiety, and aggression — giving your puppy the best chance at becoming a confident, well-balanced adult dog.
At Pet Logic, our Puppy School is vet-led and behaviour-focused. Designed by Dr Liam Brown (Veterinary Behaviour Consultant, MANZCVS Behaviour), every class is personally taught by Dr Liam, combining veterinary expertise and behaviour science with practical, hands-on teaching.
What Makes Pet Logic Different?
Unlike standard obedience classes, our Puppy School is focused on your puppy’s emotional development as well as practical skills.
We Provide:
● Small class sizes (maximum 6 puppies) for safety and individual attention.
● Safe, structured socialisation with people, dogs, and new environments.
● Owner education on body language, daily routines, and emotional needs.
● Cooperative care training for vet visits, nail trims, and grooming.
● A positive, supportive environment for both puppies and owners.
● Take home notes/homework each week to assist you in implementing the training in between classes

FAQs
-
Puppies can join Puppy Preschool from 8 weeks of age, once they’ve had their first vaccination.
Puppies between 14–20 weeks are welcome in our Puppy Foundations class.
-
The critical socialisation window is very short — puppies need safe, positive exposure before 14 weeks of age to build confidence and prevent behaviour problems later in life.
Our classes are run indoors at Pet Logic with strict cleaning and hygiene protocols to minimise risk.
-
Before your class begins, you’ll receive an email with everything you need to prepare and bring along.
-
For the safety of all puppies, please keep your puppy at home if they have diarrhoea, vomiting, coughing, or show any signs of illness.
-
We keep classes small (maximum 6 puppies) to create a safe, supportive learning environment and ensure every puppy gets individual attention.
-
That’s absolutely fine — every puppy learns differently. We work at your puppy’s pace and provide extra support where needed. If we identify significant behaviour concerns, we may recommend a private consultation to give your puppy the best chance of success.
-
We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as early as possible. In most cases, we can transfer your booking to the next available intake.
