Training & Classes

At Pet Logic, our training services are structured to ensure every dog gets the right help, in the right environment, based on a clear understanding of their specific needs.

We offer three main pathways:

1. Puppy Classes: Puppy Foundations

A small-group, veterinary behaviour-led class for puppies around 3–6 months of age.

Getting things right from the start is the best way to prevent behavioural issues later. Our puppy classes focus on more than just basic obedience. We teach you how to read your puppy’s body language, how to build resilience and confidence, and how to create a strong, engaged relationship.

Puppy Foundations is open to the public, with a short suitability form before booking. This helps us confirm that a small-group class is the right environment for your puppy at this stage.

2. Behaviour Modification (Group Classes & 1:1)

Available to current clients only.

These sessions are specifically designed for dogs struggling with:

  • Reactivity (lunging, barking, pulling on lead)

  • Hyper-arousal (low ability to focus when out and about)

  • In-home or dog-to-dog issues (for dogs that aren't necessarily reactive on walks, but struggle in other environments)

Why are these classes for current clients only?

To join a behaviour modification program, your dog must first complete an Initial Behaviour Assessment.

This is non-negotiable for two reasons:

  1. Safety: We need to ensure every dog is placed in an environment where they (and others) are safe and capable of learning.

  2. Accuracy: We need to know why your dog is reacting before we start training. Putting a fearful dog in the wrong class can make the problem worse. Once we have a clear diagnosis, we can place you in the right group or start 1-on-1 sessions tailored exactly to your dog’s needs.

Available to current clients only.

Separation anxiety is a complex panic disorder. It is not learned or fixed in a group class setting.

Like all behaviour modification at Pet Logic, treating separation anxiety starts with an Initial Behaviour Assessment. From there, we will develop a structured, step-by-step desensitisation plan.

Depending on the severity of the anxiety, treatment options include:

  • Minor management changes and adjustments

  • 1-on-1 virtual or in-home coaching

  • Access to our comprehensive online modules and courses specifically designed for separation anxiety

Because every dog’s panic threshold is different, every separation anxiety plan is completely customised to the individual dog and owner.
