Question 1

What is a veterinary behaviourist and how are they different from a dog trainer?

Accepted Answer

A veterinary behaviourist is a registered veterinarian with additional specialist qualifications in animal behaviour medicine. Unlike dog trainers who focus on obedience and skills, a behaviour vet like Dr Liam Brown can assess whether your dog's behaviour is caused by pain, medical conditions, anxiety disorders, or psychological factors. This means they can diagnose the root cause and create a treatment plan that may include behaviour modification, environmental changes, and where appropriate, medication — something trainers cannot do.

Question 2

How much does a dog behaviour consultation cost in Perth?

Accepted Answer

Veterinary behaviour consultation fees in Perth typically range from $300 to $600 for an initial assessment, depending on the complexity of the case and the length of the consultation. Pet Logic offers comprehensive behaviour consultations that include a full behaviour history review, medical assessment, and a detailed behaviour modification plan. Question 3

Can a vet help with dog aggression?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A veterinary behaviour consultant is the most qualified professional to help with dog aggression. Aggression in dogs is often driven by fear, anxiety, pain, or medical conditions — not dominance. At Pet Logic, Dr Liam Brown conducts a thorough medical and behavioural assessment to identify what's driving the aggression, then creates a structured treatment plan combining behaviour modification, management strategies, and veterinary care.

Question 4

What behaviour problems does Pet Logic treat?

Accepted Answer

Pet Logic treats a wide range of dog and cat behaviour problems including aggression (towards people, dogs, or other animals), anxiety and fear-based behaviours, separation anxiety, reactivity on walks, thunderstorm and noise phobias, inappropriate toileting, inter-cat conflict, destructive behaviour, excessive barking, and compulsive behaviours. We also offer puppy school focused on prevention and early socialisation.

Question 5

Does Pet Logic offer puppy training classes in Perth?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pet Logic's Puppy School in Perth is vet-led and behaviour-focused, designed and personally taught by Dr Liam Brown (Veterinary Behaviour Consultant). Unlike standard puppy classes, our program is built around behaviour science and early socialisation during the critical development window, helping build calm, confident, and resilient puppies. Question 6

Does Pet Logic offer home euthanasia in Perth?

Accepted Answer
